A GPS speedometer for any ride

Mount your phone where you can see the screen, hit Start Tracking, and go. You'll get live speed, your maximum speed for the ride, a moving average (which excludes time spent stopped at lights or junctions), and total distance. Switch to mph or km/h depending on where you're riding.

Keep your phone secured and glance at it only when it's safe to do so — see the safety notice below the controls.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a cadence or speed sensor?
No. This tool reads speed from your phone's GPS, not a wheel sensor, so there's nothing to pair or install. A dedicated bike computer with a wheel sensor will generally be more precise at very low speeds and in GPS-denied spots like tunnels, but GPS is accurate enough for most road and trail riding.
Will it work on an indoor trainer?
No — GPS requires a view of the sky to receive satellite signals, so it cannot measure speed indoors on a stationary trainer. For indoor sessions, a wheel or trainer-based speed sensor is required instead.
Why does my speed drop in tunnels or dense tree cover?
GPS signals can be blocked or reflected by solid cover, which lowers accuracy or causes a temporary loss of fix. The app excludes very inaccurate readings from your stats rather than showing a wrong number.
